Safety & Health Coordinator

About the role

The Safety & Health Coordinator ensures the effective implementation and continuous improvement of health and safety practices across assigned operations, promotes compliance with OSHA 2005, supports risk management and fosters a proactive safety culture. The Safety & Health office is based at the Head Office in Bagatelle, while the main sites are in Bel Ombre.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain a Health & Safety Management System in line with OSHA 2005 and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
• Advise and support Management in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
• Conduct and document risk assessments, inspections and audits
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses and implement corrective actions
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, risk assessments and statutory reports
• Design and deliver training programmes and awareness sessions, and ensure emergency preparedness (fire drills, evacuation plans, first aid readiness)
• Assess safety needs such as PPE and medical examinations and monitor H&S performance indicators
• Assist the Manager – Safety & Security in departmental projects

Required profile

• Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field
• Previous experience in occupational safety and health; hospitality experience is an advantage
• Fluent in English and French (written and spoken)
• Valid driving licence required for site visits

Required skills

• Strong report writing and analytical skills
• Good training, presentation and organisational skills
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 2005 and related regulations
