Senior IT Analyst

About the role

The Mahatma Gandhi Institute in Moka is recruiting, on a one-year renewable contract, a Senior IT Analyst to run its IT Division effectively and efficiently. The post is responsible to the Director-General and covers database, systems and network administration, server and application management, security and staff training.

Key responsibilities

• Administer databases, systems and networks, and install and maintain applications, databases and servers while monitoring capacity needs.
• Troubleshoot operating system, hardware and network problems and carry out day-to-day maintenance.
• Develop and monitor security procedures against physical harm, viruses and unauthorised access, and help prepare data security plans.
• Assess hardware and software needs, ensure adequate stock of computer supplies, analyse user needs for new software and install software.
• Monitor system backups, perform quality assurance, train staff and liaise with suppliers and assist in procuring hardware and software.
• Submit reports to the institute's departments and perform other related duties.

Required profile

• Cambridge Higher School Certificate or two Advanced Level passes, followed by a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or Information Technology from a recognised institution.
• At least three years' post-qualification experience in database, systems or network administration.
• Good problem-solving and diagnostic abilities, and ability to implement database security policies.
• Written evidence of experience must be submitted.

What we offer

• Negotiable salary in the range of Rs36,248 to Rs80,975 (PRB 2026).
• Gratuity of two months' salary after 12 months of satisfactory service.
• Travel expenses refunded as per regulations.
