Site Engineer

About the role

The Site Engineer will be based on‑site in Moka, Mauritius, overseeing daily construction activities and ensuring work complies with design specifications, safety standards and company procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate field activities with technicians, contractors and suppliers.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor quality control throughout construction and installation phases.
• Review drawings and structural details, ensuring accurate execution of plans.
• Report project progress to management and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Support project planning, scheduling and resource allocation.
• Promote continuous improvement of site processes and a culture of safety and compliance.

Required profile

• Ability to work effectively in an on‑site environment and coordinate field activities.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with project teams, clients, contractors and suppliers.
• Experience in quality control, inspections and compliance verification.
• Knowledge of structural engineering principles and ability to interpret structural drawings.
• Background as a civil engineer with experience in construction, infrastructure or building services projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
• Understanding of safety regulations and site health‑and‑safety practices.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and using basic engineering and site‑management tools; familiarity with project‑management software is a plus.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and ability to manage time and priorities in a fast‑paced site environment.
