Technical Monitoring Engineer

About the role

The Technical Monitoring Engineer will monitor asset health and performance from BIA's dispatching centre in Mauritius. Working closely with internal teams, customers and partners, you will analyse condition data, generate actionable insights and support preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide remote monitoring services for SmartFleet contracts and deliver timely, value‑added reports.
• Use preventive‑maintenance KPIs to track fleet operations and define proactive alerting rules (Qlik alerting).
• Conduct TCO‑based saving analyses and advanced cross‑source data investigations.
• Maintain and develop dashboards for machine performance, health monitoring, misuse detection and predictive maintenance.
• Create ad‑hoc dashboards and statistical tools to highlight data exceptions.
• Support automation and integration of statistical analyses within the SmartFleet environment.
• Offer consulting services for SmartFleet implementation and assess solution effectiveness.
• Organise regular training sessions, coach new analysts and keep e‑learning content up‑to‑date.
• Perform any other related duties as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2‑3 years of experience in industrial asset maintenance, machine set‑up or diagnostics.
• Experience with data and statistical analysis is preferred.
• Strong communication skills in written and spoken English; French is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast‑evolving business environment.
