Trainee Engineer – LPG & Fuel Systems

About the role

This trainee engineer position offers hands‑on experience in LPG and commercial fuel system installation, maintenance and safety. You will work alongside senior engineers to develop practical skills in system design, commissioning and troubleshooting while supporting safe and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with site surveys and hazard identification for new installations.
• Support small‑scale LPG installation projects, including pump, meter and dispenser setup.
• Participate in start‑up, commissioning and calibration of fuel dispensing equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance, part replacement and cleaning under supervision.
• Help troubleshoot common issues such as pump malfunctions and leaks, and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Document work, generate compliance reports and contribute to performance audits.
• Assist in drafting proposals, feasibility studies and client meetings.
• Coordinate material procurement and supervise junior technicians on specific project segments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or a related engineering field.
• Basic understanding of the oil and gas industry.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work outdoors on a flexible schedule.
• Computer proficiency and openness to learning specialised software.
