Trainee - Finance & Shared Services

About the role

The Finance & Shared Services Trainee supports the Mauritius Shared Services (MSS) team in delivering finance, operational and project-related activities in a dynamic shared services environment. The role starts with hands-on exposure to business initiatives such as system and process enhancement projects, then moves to broader finance and shared services operations. It is a 12-month trainee programme with practical work experience and structured learning, with possible conversion to permanent employment depending on performance and business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Support business initiatives, including system implementations, data migration and process enhancement
• Assist with data entry, journal postings, bookkeeping and maintenance of accounting records
• Support month-end and year-end finance processes
• Assist with basic bank and account reconciliations
• Support data processing, system updates and maintenance of financial information
• Assist with onboarding, documentation and record management
• Perform data validation and quality checks
• Provide administrative and coordination support across MSS activities
• Contribute to internal projects, operational improvements and shared services initiatives, and undertake ad-hoc assignments

Required profile

• Fresh graduate or diploma holder in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field
• ACCA/ACA students encouraged to apply
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
