Umpire – Recreational Sports Official for US Navy Program

About the role
We are looking for a qualified umpire to join Amentum’s support team for a US Navy recreational sports program on Diego Garcia. The role involves officiating softball, baseball and similar league games, ensuring fair play and safety for participants.
Key responsibilities
- Officiate recreational league games in accordance with established rules and regulations.
- Make accurate, timely calls on plays, pitches and player actions.
- Inspect fields, equipment and player gear before each game to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain game records, scorecards and incident reports as required.
- Communicate with players, coaches and program staff to resolve disputes or clarify rules.
- Support scheduling, field setup and coordination of league activities.
- Promote sportsmanship, safety and positive participation throughout all events.
Required profile
- 1–3 years of experience officiating softball, baseball or similar sports.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid passport with at least one year validity beyond hire date and ability to travel internationally.
- Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain required credentials.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain facility credentials and country‑specific visas.
- Preferred: experience in an austere OCONUS environment, umpire certification, and a valid driver’s license.
