Receptionist – Guest Services on Luxury Cruise Ship

About the role

The Receptionist will be the first point of contact for guests aboard a luxury cruise ship, delivering exceptional service at the front desk. This role requires strong administrative abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to handle multiple guest requests efficiently while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

Key responsibilities

• Provide exceptional guest services at the reception desk, responding promptly to enquiries, requests and complaints.
• Assist guests with financial transactions, including cash payments, traveller’s checks, foreign‑currency exchange and credit‑card processing, and reconcile cash with the Financial Officer.
• Manage daily reception duties such as RSVP of invitations, mailing service, DVD/CD rental, newspaper delivery, restaurant reservations and wake‑up calls.
• Maintain continuous communication with the Guest Relations Manager and other ship departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures and uphold moral integrity in all interactions.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in guest‑facing roles at an international 5‑star or luxury establishment.
• Fluent English (verbal and written); advanced proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, German or French is highly desirable.
• Strong administrative skills, basic accounting knowledge and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
• Ability to adapt quickly, make decisions under pressure and remain calm while managing multiple demands.
• Well‑organized, self‑managed, motivated and capable of delivering high‑quality service consistently.
