Accountant (ACCA Member)

About the role

A client of Alentaris Limited is looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join its team. The role covers financial reporting, consolidation, operational finance and banking, cash flow and ledger management, and audit support.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial reports and assist the senior group accountants with group consolidation.
• Prepare and submit monthly, half-yearly and annual management accounts to the Group CFO and divisional executives.
• Prepare year-end financial statements with supporting disclosures and declarations (IAS/IFRS).
• Prepare tax computations and other financial reporting required by the group.
• Liaise with the external auditor to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
• Process invoices, interbank payments and quotations, and liaise with the management company to resolve queries.
• Manage client and revenue activities in the divisional shipping system, distribute divisional rates and support day-to-day banking and finance operations.
• Maintain the divisional daily cash flow schedule and reconcile cash books, intercompany ledgers and prepayment accounts.
• Carry out ageing debtors analysis and post relevant provisions and revenue entries.
• Support internal and external audits, respond to audit queries and resolve discrepancies, and carry out ad-hoc accounting and administrative tasks.

Required profile

• ACCA qualified member.
• 4 to 6 years in accounting and/or client management, with exposure to compliance functions.
• Strong numerical sensitivity and sound understanding of accounting principles.
• Excellent spoken and written English and French.
• Organized, analytical, proactive, diplomatic, fast learner, able to meet tight deadlines, with excellent time management and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Familiarity with online banking platforms is preferred.
