Accounts Clerk (Payables)

About the role

Scott, a Mauritian business established in 1830 representing international brands in FMCG, pharmaceutical and fresh produce, is looking for an Accounts Clerk (Payables) to join its Accounts Payable team. The role manages supplier transactions, keeps financial records accurate and supports efficient payment operations.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and credit notes through the ERP system
• Match supplier invoices against purchase orders and goods received notes, investigating discrepancies
• Manage recurring invoices, credit card statements, prepayments and expense claims
• Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on outstanding purchase orders
• Assist with month-end closing and related financial reconciliations

Required profile

• HSC with ACCA Applied Knowledge level, a Diploma in Accounting or equivalent
• At least 2 years' experience in accounts payable
• Good command of English and French
• Organised, detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines

Required skills

• ERP and good Excel skills
• Oracle experience is an advantage
• Knowledge of Mauritian VAT and import documentation is a plus
