Asian Kitchen Commis (Level 2)

About the role

The Commis 2 – Asian supports daily preparation and production of Asian dishes at the Awase Japanese/Pan‑Asian outlet, ensuring quality, hygiene and consistency.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and cooking a variety of Asian cuisines, including Chinese, Thai, Japanese and Korean.
• Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meats, seafood, noodles, rice, sauces, stocks and marinades.
• Follow recipes, portion controls and presentation standards set by senior chefs.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of workstations, utensils and equipment.
• Adhere to food safety standards, including proper storage, temperature control, labeling and FIFO rotation.
• Support the Chef de Partie during busy service periods and help with mise en place.
• Assist with receiving, checking and storing kitchen supplies while minimizing waste.

Required profile

• Basic cooking and knife skills.
• Knowledge of Asian sauces, spices, noodles, rice and seasonings.
• Good organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Attention to detail and consistency in food preparation.
• Team‑oriented attitude with willingness to learn.
