Assistant Cook

About the role

Join One&Only Le Saint Géran, a premier ultra‑luxury resort in Mauritius, as an Assistant Cook. You will support daily kitchen operations across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service, ensuring high standards of hygiene, food quality, and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and service of all meals, following the resort’s standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces and kitchen areas before and after each service.
• Label and store all food items with dates and product names, adhering to FIFO principles.
• Receive, inspect, and store deliveries, checking quality from dry store, deep freeze, and fresh produce.
• Conduct daily equipment checks and report any incidents promptly.
• Support the kitchen team in achieving budgeted food cost targets and minimizing waste.
• Contribute ideas for menu innovation and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum school certificate.
• At least 2 years of experience as an Assistant Cook in an international ultra‑luxury resort.
• Valid food handler’s certificate.
• Strong attention to detail, punctuality, and ability to work collaboratively.

Required skills

• Food handling certification.
