Assistant Executive Housekeeper

About the role

Constance Belle Mare Plage, a leading resort in Mauritius, is hiring a full-time Assistant Executive Housekeeper. The postholder works closely with the Executive Housekeeper and helps deliver departmental objectives through effective management of housekeeping duties, customer satisfaction, inventory and budget control.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the department running smoothly in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper and prepare guest stays with the team.
• Maintain high guest-service standards, anticipate and exceed guest expectations, and handle queries and complaints quickly.
• Monitor guest satisfaction, spot-check rooms, corridors, gardens, floors, public areas and storerooms, and check VIP and long-stay rooms for quality status.
• Coordinate deep cleaning programmes (shampoo, curtains, bedspreads, tiles, marble and wood) and special cleaning for floors and public areas, working with contractors and engineering.
• Supervise lost property and outside contractors such as pest control, flower and cleaning companies.
• Report equipment breakdowns immediately and ensure environmental and safety standards are met.
• Manage human resources: staffing levels, duty rosters, holiday plans, training, appraisals, recruitment and selection, and staff discipline and appearance.
• Take part in management meetings, report on department operations, follow health and safety and fire procedures, and promote energy efficiency and the Green Globe policy.
• Control costs (expenditure, Opex, uniforms), keep stock levels adequate and maintain records in line with occupancy and legal requirements.
