Assistant Manager - Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS)

About the role

EY Mauritius is recruiting an Assistant Manager for its Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team, which helps clients implement changes to regulatory and financial reporting, including new IFRS standards such as IFRS 17, technical accounting advice, finance systems implementation, IFRS conversion support, audit readiness and accounting controls. The role suits technically strong IFRS accountants who want to deliver advisory projects with flexibility and career progression.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of technical accounting advice and train clients on technical accounting matters
• Design, develop and implement strategic and operational initiatives for clients
• Deliver accounting and regulatory change projects by managing the project team, assessing engagement risks and reviewing the team's output
• Build internal and external networks, manage EY accounts and establish working relationships with peer-level clients
• Train, coach and supervise junior staff, monitor staff availability and chargeability and support under-utilised staff
• Identify and secure new business
• Contribute to the team's technical skills and keep up to date with industry developments
• Provide quality assurance, manage assignment teams and third parties, and liaise with service line teams, functional specialists and Area Partners

Required profile

• Accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACA) or an equivalent professional qualification
• At least 3 years of experience in a relevant field
• Strong knowledge of IFRSs
• Experience in a consulting or transformation role focused on the finance function, accounting and regulatory change, financial control (statutory reporting and consolidation) and regulatory, statutory and management reporting projects
