Associate Accountant – VAT (6‑month contract)

About the role
We are looking for an Associate Accountant specialized in VAT to join our finance team on a six‑month contract. The role focuses on ensuring accurate payment processing, bank reconciliations and timely resolution of unapplied cash.
Key responsibilities
- Proactively follow up on payment reconciliations and manage the full payment cycle.
- Reconcile daily payments against bank statements.
- Contact customers who have paid without providing remittance advice.
- Rectify unapplied cash in accounts receivable in collaboration with AR departments and customers.
- Perform daily banking allocations and ensure accurate posting.
Required profile
- ACCA Level 1 or higher school certificate with accounting.
- 2–3 years of basic accounting experience, preferably in debtors or AR.
- Proficient with PC applications and able to work extra hours when needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
