Cement Mason

About the role

Amentum is seeking a skilled Cement Mason to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves a variety of construction, remodeling, and renovation tasks in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe workplace and comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
• Repair, maintain, and alter buildings, mix mortar, and lay bricks or concrete sidewalks.
• Construct and repair steps, install and repair tile floors, and perform incidental carpentry.
• Finish poured concrete surfaces, level concrete, and apply textured or colored finishes.
• Use hand tools and power tools such as floats, trowels, screeds, and pneumatic equipment.
• Prepare and submit detailed project reports for management.
• Perform other duties consistent with the position as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of masonry experience or trade‑school training in concrete construction.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑task environment with changing priorities.
• Cross‑cultural sensitivity and strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Team‑oriented mindset and willingness to innovate.
