Claims Assistant (Motor Insurance)

About the role

The Claims Assistant will support the motor insurance claims process for Safelane Insurance Brokers Ltd. Working closely with insurers, clients and the internal Claims team, you will ensure claims are registered, tracked and settled efficiently while maintaining high standards of service.

Key responsibilities

• Verify policy status, coverage terms, conditions and exclusions for motor claims.
• Register and follow up on motor claims with insurers according to company procedures.
• Liaise with clients to collect required claim information and supporting documentation.
• Monitor claim progress, keep clients informed and coordinate settlement communications.
• Facilitate allocation of replacement vehicles where applicable, in coordination with insurers.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date claim files and monitor claim timelines.
• Escalate delays to the Claims Officer/Manager as needed.
• Provide general administrative support to the Claims Department.

Required profile

• Minimum HSC qualification.
• 1‑2 years of experience in a similar claims or insurance support role.
• Strong customer service orientation and positive attitude.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and French.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
