Crane Operator & Rigger Foreman – Diego Garcia

About the role

Amentum is seeking an experienced Crane Operator / Rigger Foreman to support a unique U.S. Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. You will lead crane operations and supervise rigging activities while ensuring strict compliance with NAVFAC P-307 standards and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate cranes safely and professionally in accordance with NAVFAC P-307 and other applicable standards.
• Supervise and lead rigging personnel during all crane operations.
• Provide training on hand‑signal communication and ensure riggers understand proper procedures.
• Inspect rigging tools and equipment, confirming they meet operational standards.
• Prepare, review, and execute lift plans that align with safety and mission‑readiness guidelines.
• Monitor compliance with occupational health and safety regulations throughout all activities.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on cranes to maintain operational effectiveness.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating cranes and performing rigging operations.
• Training and certification that meet NAVFAC P-307 requirements.
• Familiarity with hand‑signal communication for crane operations.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures related to crane and rigging work.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity) and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to pass and maintain contract medical requirements for the duration of deployment.
