Database Team Lead (DBA) – Lead & Mentor DBAs

About the role

We are seeking a Database Team Lead (DBA) with strong technical expertise and leadership abilities to ensure the stability, performance, and evolution of our database environment. The role combines hands‑on database administration with team mentorship and project oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, monitor and optimise Oracle database environments to guarantee high availability, performance and reliability.
• Provision, maintain and support PRE‑PROD, UAT and PROD environments.
• Lead, mentor and develop a pool of Level I and II DBAs, ensuring effective knowledge transfer.
• Apply a maker‑checker approach to validate all changes for impact, risk and compliance.
• Oversee database‑related projects, aligning technical delivery with business objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation, standardisation and optimisation initiatives.
• Enforce best practices, security standards and reporting requirements.
• Handle incident management, root‑cause analysis and provide timely resolution, including after‑hours support.

Required profile

• 7–10 years of solid experience in database administration.
• Proven ability to take ownership, demonstrate reliability and ensure accountability.
• Willingness to work on‑call and respond to critical incidents.
• Strong documentation practices and a proactive, innovative mindset.
• Commitment to knowledge sharing and team development.
• Relevant certifications in Oracle and GoldenGate; systems engineering certifications are a plus.
