Demi Chef De Partie

About the role

The Demi Chef De Partie will support the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in delivering high‑quality dishes at Constance Le Chaland, a luxury resort on Mauritius' south‑eastern coast. The role involves hands‑on cooking, kitchen hygiene, and staff supervision in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with breakfast M.E.P., store leftovers correctly, and maintain a clean, sanitized workstation.
• Prepare dishes according to orders from the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Chef de Partie, ensuring recipes, photos and standards are followed.
• Supervise, train and support kitchen staff in daily duties, and ensure the kitchen is tidy before leaving.
• Clean and maintain equipment, report any malfunctions, and help other cooks across departments when needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus culinary school qualification.
• Minimum 3 years hotel industry experience, with at least 1 year in a similar position.
• Strong organisational, multitasking and communication abilities; able to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Food & Safety certification.
• Health & Safety certification.
• Proficient in various cooking methods, equipment and tools.
• Knowledge of sanitation best practices.
