Event and Marketing Officer

About the role

The Event and Marketing Officer will help expand Greenpeace Africa’s visibility and fundraising impact across Mauritius. You will secure high‑traffic kiosk locations, build partnerships with malls and commercial venues, and support fundraising teams in engaging potential supporters.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and scout high‑traffic venues suitable for fundraising activities.
• Conduct site visits, assess visibility, accessibility and audience potential, and maintain an up‑to‑date venue database.
• Develop and nurture relationships with mall management and venue partners, negotiating kiosk space agreements and securing approvals.
• Present partnership proposals that align with Greenpeace Africa’s mission and address venue concerns.
• Coordinate kiosk schedules with fundraising teams, provide operational support, and monitor location performance.
• Resolve on‑site issues promptly and professionally.
• Maintain accurate records of partnerships, agreements and performance metrics, and submit regular updates.

Required profile

• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Strong negotiation and organisational skills.
• Experience in partnerships, events, business development or marketing (advantageous).
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and travel across Mauritius.
• Professional, confident and solution‑oriented attitude.
• Good knowledge of the Mauritian commercial landscape.
• Valid driving licence and reliable transportation.
• Proficiency in English and French; Creole is a plus.
• Passion for environmental protection and Greenpeace’s mission.
