Executive Housekeeper

About the role

The Executive Housekeeper leads the housekeeping department at Constance Le Chaland, a luxury resort on Mauritius' south‑eastern coast. The role ensures flawless guest experiences while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Customer service: coordinate with hotel departments to prepare guest stays meticulously and exceed expectations.
• Facility maintenance: work with the Maintenance Manager to implement preventive maintenance and address equipment breakdowns promptly.
• Human resources: communicate standards, manage staffing levels, monitor morale, provide training and conduct performance appraisals.
• Reporting & safety: participate in management meetings, ensure health‑and‑safety practices, and promote energy‑efficiency initiatives.
• Budget control: monitor expenses, control inventory of linen, amenities and uniforms, and adhere to financial policies.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Hospitality, Hotel or Housekeeping Management.
• Minimum 2 years experience in luxury hotel housekeeping, overseeing rooms, public areas, laundry and linen control.
• Strong leadership, organizational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high service standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office and hotel/property management software.
• Knowledge of health, safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Budget management and cost‑control capabilities.
