Executive Housekeeper

About the role

Constance Le Chaland, a luxury resort on the south-eastern coast of Mauritius, is hiring an Executive Housekeeper through its partner Hosco in Plaine Magnien. The role covers housekeeping operations, customer service, facility maintenance, human resources and reporting, and requires proven experience in luxury resort housekeeping.

Key responsibilities

• Customer service: gather and share guest information, anticipate and exceed guest expectations, monitor satisfaction, handle queries and complaints quickly, and update service standards
• Maintenance: set up and monitor a preventive maintenance programme with the Maintenance Manager, report equipment breakdowns immediately and comply with environmental standards and legislation
• Human resources: communicate with staff, keep staffing levels right, monitor morale, provide training, appraise staff, run disciplinary and grievance procedures, enforce dress and conduct codes, and control manpower and costs within budget
• Reporting: attend management meetings and regularly report on department administration and operations
• Safety: follow health and safety practices, fire and emergency procedures, promote energy efficiency and the Green Globe policy, and control linen, amenities and uniform inventory
• Budget: keep costs within acceptable limits and adhere to hotel financial control policies

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Housekeeping Management or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of hotel industry experience in a similar position
• Proven experience in top luxury resorts with at least 150 rooms
• Proven experience managing housekeeping operations, including rooms, public areas, laundry and linen control

Required skills

• Working knowledge of MS Office, hotel property management systems and housekeeping management systems
• Knowledge of housekeeping trends, cleaning technologies and best practices
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, hygiene and sanitation standards
• Ability to lead, motivate and manage a multicultural team, and to work under pressure
