Food & Beverage Assistant – Bartender

About the role

The F&B Assistant‑Bartender supports the bar operation at C Mauritius by ensuring a clean mise en place, serving guests to the brand’s standards, and handling cash and inventory duties. This full‑time position works closely with the Assistant F&B Manager to deliver a seamless guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a clean bar area, including mise en place, glassware, and equipment.
• Serve food and beverages, take orders on the Touche POS system, and process cash and card payments.
• Collect and dispatch soiled glassware to the dish‑washing area and ensure timely billing hand‑over to Front Office.
• Maintain stock levels, conduct daily inventories, and assist with monthly bar inventory for cost control.
• Know the cocktail menu and beverage list by heart and prepare classic and hotel‑specific cocktails.
• Handle guest queries, feedback and complaints, escalating to the Outlet Manager when needed.
• Support training, briefing, and development of bar staff in coordination with the Assistant F&B Manager.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene standards, and alcohol serving regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar hospitality or bar role.
• SC holder or equivalent National Certificate Level 3.
• Team player with a flexible approach to work and punctuality.
• Good grooming standards and ability to communicate in English and French.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Touche POS system.
• Knowledge of classic cocktails and the hotel’s beverage menu.
• Ability to manage bar inventory, stock replenishment and basic cost‑control procedures.
