GL Accountant

About the role

The General Ledger (GL) Accountant at SD Worx is responsible for the end‑to‑end record‑to‑report process, ensuring the accuracy, completeness and compliance of the company’s financial records. Working within a globally distributed accounting team, the role combines routine ledger maintenance with ad‑hoc analysis to support business decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and manage the general ledger in SAP S/4 HANA, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and classified.
• Review, post and reconcile journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments, provisions and reclassifications.
• Execute month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities and meet all reporting deadlines.
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations, monthly management reports and audit schedules.
• Analyse financial results, explain significant variances and support the preparation of statutory financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, local accounting standards and internal policies while maintaining strong internal controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency across the accounting function.
• Collaborate with accounting colleagues across multiple countries to share best practices.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or ACCA Level 2.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS and statutory compliance.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and business‑acumen skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English with strong interpersonal abilities.
