Global Markets Sales Trader

About the role

Investec Bank (Mauritius) Limited is seeking an experienced Global Markets Sales Trader to help establish and grow its newly formed Global Markets business. Reporting to the Head of Global Markets Sales, you will combine trading, market insight, product structuring and client relationship management.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily setting of MUR rates, execute client transactions accurately and within regulatory requirements.
• Develop trading strategies, identify opportunities, and deepen client relationships across FX, derivatives, fixed income and commodities.
• Partner with trading and risk teams to structure bespoke financial solutions, ensuring compliance with client needs and regulations.
• Monitor local and global markets, provide insights for client conversations and the Global Markets proposition.
• Track P&L, risk and market trends, and ensure timely regulatory reporting.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in market making, trading or a closely related banking role.
• Strong knowledge of financial markets, products and risk management principles.
• Understanding of the local currency environment and relevant regulations.
• ACI Dealing Certificate (or in process) and a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or related field.
• Analytical and problem‑solving capability with experience using Excel for financial modelling.
