Graduate Trainee Environmental & Building Physics Engineer

About the role

Arup is looking for a motivated Graduate Trainee to join its Environmental & Building Physics practice in Mauritius. You will gain hands‑on experience in a multidisciplinary setting, supporting the design of sustainable buildings and spaces through advanced analysis and modelling.

Key responsibilities

• Perform numerical analyses, including CFD and energy modelling, using certified dynamic thermal modelling tools.
• Build, run and refine physics‑based models to assess microclimates, wind effects and building performance.
• Produce clear technical outputs such as calculations, analysis reports and feasibility studies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Develop professional skills (CAD, Python/scripting, CPD) and work towards relevant registrations/accreditations.

Required profile

• Holding or working towards a first or advanced degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective teamwork.
