Hedge Fund Accountant

About the role

The Hedge Fund Accountant will operate in a fast‑paced environment, providing day‑to‑day client support and ensuring robust controls across OTC derivative transactions. The role demands meticulous attention to detail and the ability to resolve issues quickly.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily trade reconciliation, processing, affirmations and pricing.
• Value assigned client portfolios and analyse P&L fluctuations.
• Address out‑of‑tolerance variances and interact with custodians, brokers and external valuators.
• Review trade blotters to set up new OTC instruments and modify orders.
• Analyze corporate actions such as pay‑downs, splits, mergers, acquisitions and spin‑offs.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly P&L reports for internal risk teams and client representatives.
• Monitor fund pricing policy and flag restricted‑asset‑class trading.
• Stay informed on regulatory changes affecting derivative trading and product support.
• Create month‑end packages following the process control checklist.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Completion or candidacy in CFA, CSC or a similar designation is an asset.
• Strong analytical abilities and basic knowledge of financial instruments.
• Adaptability, quick learning capability and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
