Housekeeping Coordinator

About the role

The Housekeeping Coordinator supports the Executive Housekeeper in ensuring smooth operations of the housekeeping department at Constance Le Chaland, a beachfront resort in Plaine Magnien, Mauritius. The role involves managing reports, keys, supplies and administrative tasks while liaising with other departments to maintain high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage reports, keys and all documentation related to the Housekeeping department.
• Coordinate guest requests, supplier requisitions and inter‑departmental communications.
• Control guest supplies, stationery, expenses and maintain adequate stock levels.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly reports, time‑sheets, staff attendance and lost‑and‑found records.
• Ensure rooms are ready for guests and oversee the timely return of rooms to the system.
• Handle telephone enquiries, fill out forms and process guest calls.
• Organise files, memos and paperwork for the Executive Housekeeper and assistants.
• Maintain cleanliness of the Housekeeping office, store and equipment.
• Supervise the Lost & Found store and ensure accurate record‑keeping.
• Collaborate with training department to schedule and follow up on housekeeping training.
• Implement hotel policies, monitor complaints and ensure prompt resolution.
