IT Support Assistant

About the role

The IT Support Assistant provides first‑line technical assistance to end users, ensuring that all support requests are handled promptly and efficiently. You will maintain hardware and software standards while contributing to continuous improvement of the office’s IT environment.

Key responsibilities

• Log support calls, document outcomes and keep users informed of progress.
• Deploy, install, configure and redeploy PCs, peripherals and software according to agreed standards.
• Perform equipment repairs, upgrades and routine maintenance on existing hardware.
• Troubleshoot network‑based issues, apply corrective actions or escalate when necessary.
• Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of hardware and software assets.
• Support IT projects such as software acquisitions, application roll‑outs and network upgrades.
• Provide end‑user training and stay aware of current technology trends and security alerts.
• Deliver professional, courteous service at all times and perform any other related duties.

Required profile

• Minimum high school certificate (HSC) with at least one year of relevant experience.
• Certificate or diploma in Information Technology.
• Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken.
• Analytical mindset, ability to work under pressure and willingness to work outside normal hours when required.
• Self‑motivated, eager to learn and a collaborative team player.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010.
• Experience with Windows 7 (or later) operating systems.
• Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification – a plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Access – a plus.
