Junior Accountant

About the role

Parallels, a multi-entity, multi-currency organization, is hiring a Junior Accountant to support its day-to-day accounting operations. The role maintains accurate financial records across several legal entities, processes accounting transactions, performs reconciliations and helps with month-end and year-end closing, working under the guidance of the Director of Accounting. It also supports the management of global facilities and office premises, including leases, vendors and costs.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, prepayments and fixed asset entries, and reconcile accounts, investigating discrepancies and proposing adjustments.
• Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing, including prepayment and fixed asset schedules, and assist with bank and intercompany reconciliations.
• Support AP and AR: invoice accuracy review, payment tracking, overdue customer follow-up, domestic and international payments, expense claims in Concur, supplier invoice coding and posting, and vendor/customer reconciliations.
• Help prepare financial reports and support VAT and other tax reporting, budget tracking and variance analysis, and audit requests.
• Respond to routine accounting and finance inquiries and help maintain accounting procedures and working instructions.
• Support facilities and office management: coordinate with landlords and property managers, process lease, utility and maintenance invoices, track lease renewals and facility budgets.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Good numerical skills, attention to detail and a structured approach.
• Willingness to learn accounting systems, Excel and internal finance procedures.
• Reliable organisation, clear communication and discretion with confidential information.
