Kitchen Helper

About the role

Join the culinary team at Constance Le Chaland, a luxury resort on Mauritius' pristine south‑eastern coast. As a Kitchen Helper you will support chefs and kitchen staff in delivering high‑quality food service while working in a serene, ocean‑view environment that values collaboration, learning and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruits according to instructions.
• Assist in preparing ingredients and portioning food items for service.
• Support chefs during meal preparation and service.
• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans and kitchen equipment.
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces, floors, storage areas and equipment.
• Handle food supplies: receive, store, organize and report shortages or damages.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and health regulations.
• Assist with inventory checks and other kitchen duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety practices.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and reliability.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Food Handler certification (mandatory).
