Learning Support Assistant – English as an Additional Language

About the role

Northfields International School is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to help high‑school students improve their English language proficiency. Working closely with teachers and the EAL coordinator, you will play a key part in the school’s integrated approach to language support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide in‑class assistance to students with weak English skills using a range of EAL strategies.
• Monitor and record student progress on a weekly basis.
• Adjust schedules to offer targeted reading and assignment review sessions.
• Assist during tests and assessments when requested by teachers or the EAL coordinator.
• Collaborate with teachers to track progress, support reading programmes, and help set learning targets.
• Cover ESL lessons or clubs as needed.

Required profile

• Passion for supporting learners and building confidence in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to adapt schedules to meet student needs.
