Marine Eco Guide – Snorkeling & Conservation

About the role

The Marine Eco Guide will lead guests through safe, educational snorkeling experiences while promoting marine conservation. Working on‑site at the Marine Discovery Centre and on‑water excursions, you will combine water‑safety expertise with a passion for the local marine environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct guided snorkeling sessions for hotel guests, visitors and school groups in coastal and lagoon areas, ensuring safety and engagement.
• Maintain strict water‑safety standards, monitor guest conditions and be prepared for rescue operations during all water activities.
• Deliver interactive marine‑conservation talks both on board and inside the Marine Discovery Centre.
• Support daily operations of the Ekol’O Marine Discovery Centre, sharing basic scientific information about Mauritian fauna and flora.

Required profile

• Rescue Diver certification (or higher) with strong snorkeling and water‑safety abilities.
• Good knowledge of marine ecosystems and local wildlife.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with guests, children and team members.
• Fluent in French and English; spoken Mauritian Creole is a plus.
• Driving or skipper licence is advantageous.
