Production Control Clerk / Service Writer

About the role

The Production Control Clerk / Service Writer provides essential data‑management and administrative support for the tracking and maintenance of military and civilian equipment. Working closely with the Production Control Supervisor and Maintenance Manager, you will ensure accurate records, generate custom reports and assist in continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Enter, update and export equipment data using GCSS‑ARMY or approved logistics information systems.
• Maintain 100 % accurate vehicle and equipment records and generate custom tracking spreadsheets.
• Prepare, update and deliver regular reports to management.
• Support the Company Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and Quality Assurance program.
• Ensure maintenance histories are recorded in historical jackets and the computerized maintenance management system.
• Provide logistical and administrative assistance to supervisors and managers.
• Mentor and assist with on‑the‑job training and cross‑training of staff.
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers and comply with all company policies and safety standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years hands‑on experience in production control, administration or dispatching.
• Preferably trained in Military Occupation CMF 92A Production Control or equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain required military operator permits.
• Fluent in spoken, written and read English.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform standard office tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced Excel.
• Experience using GCSS‑ARMY or other approved logistics information systems.
• Ability to read and apply technical manuals.
