Production Control Clerk / Service Writer

About the role

The Production Control Clerk / Service Writer provides essential data‑entry and reporting support for military and civilian equipment management on Diego Garcia. Working closely with the Production Control Supervisor and Maintenance Manager, the role ensures accurate tracking of assets and timely administrative assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Enter, update and export equipment data using GCSS‑ARMY or other approved logistics information systems.
• Create and maintain custom tracking databases and spreadsheets, primarily in Microsoft Excel.
• Generate, update and deliver regular reports to management.
• Support the Company Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and Quality Assurance program.
• Maintain historical maintenance records and documentation for disposition, classification, controlled exchange and cannibalization.
• Provide logistical and administrative assistance to supervisors and managers.
• Mentor and assist with on‑the‑job training and cross‑training of staff.
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers and comply with all company policies, safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of hands‑on experience in production control, administration or dispatching.
• Training in Military Occupation CMF 92A Production Control or a comparable commercial equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain a military operator’s permit for required vehicles.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform standard office tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using GCSS‑ARMY or similar logistics information systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
