Receptionist – Guest Services on Luxury Cruise Ship

About the role

We are seeking a professional Receptionist to deliver exceptional guest services aboard a luxury cruise ship. The role involves managing the front desk, handling guest enquiries, and ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience for all passengers throughout their voyage.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality reception services, greeting guests and coordinating their needs.
• Respond promptly to guest requests, enquiries, and complaints, following up to ensure satisfaction.
• Handle financial transactions such as cash payments, traveler’s checks, foreign‑currency exchange, credit cards and cash advances, and reconcile cash with the Financial Officer at the end of each cruise.
• Manage daily desk duties including RSVP of invitations, mailing services, DVD/CD rentals, newspaper distribution, restaurant reservations and wake‑up calls.
• Maintain clear communication with the Guest Relations Manager and other ship departments, adhering to company SOPs.

Required profile

• Minimum two years experience in guest‑facing or front‑desk roles within an international 5‑star or luxury hospitality environment.
• Strong administrative abilities and moral integrity.
• Excellent fluency in English (verbal and written); additional languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, German or French are a plus.
• Adaptable, quick‑thinking, and able to make decisions under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Well‑organized, self‑motivated and capable of handling multiple demands calmly.
