Room Technician

About the role

The Room Technician ensures guest safety and satisfaction by promptly addressing maintenance issues in guest rooms at a luxury resort on Mauritius' south‑eastern coast. The role involves routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various hotel equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests, including plumbing, drainage, and electrical issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to the hotel schedule and maintain all tools and equipment.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair lighting fixtures, sockets, and air‑conditioning systems.
• Maintain clean work areas, follow safety procedures, and communicate effectively with the Shift Leader.
• Participate in energy‑conservation programs and suggest cost‑saving ideas.

Required profile

• Minimum secondary education; additional technical training or certificates are a plus.
• At least 1 year of experience in hotel engineering or a similar hospitality environment.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, unpredictable setting and adapt to guest needs.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal) or another language.
