Safety and Health Officer

About the role

HealthActiv is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and proactive Safety and Health Officer to support occupational safety and health across its offices, warehouses, pharmacies, field operations, and biomedical equipment activities. The role works closely with management and employees to maintain safe working environments, promote a strong safety culture, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, review, and communicate safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices across all sites.
• Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits; identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain safety records, inspection reports, training registers, permits, and other compliance documentation.
• Investigate accidents, injuries, near‑misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare reports and recommend preventive measures.
• Support fire safety, first‑aid, emergency preparedness, evacuation procedures, and drills.
• Coordinate safety inductions, toolbox talks, awareness sessions, and refresher training.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, emergency services, contractors, and external stakeholders on safety matters.
• Assist in aligning practices with ISO 45001 and support IBL Group safety maturity assessments.
• Support radiation‑safety compliance for biomedical equipment, including X‑ray and CT systems.

Required profile

• Registered Safety and Health Officer qualification as prescribed under the Occupational Safety and Health Act 2005.
• Minimum three years of relevant occupational safety and health experience.
• Strong knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 2005 and related regulations.

Required skills
