Senior Client Accountant

About the role

Apex Group, a fund administration and middle office solutions provider founded in Bermuda in 2003, is looking for a Senior Client Accountant. The role manages a portfolio of clients so that high-quality, on-time output is delivered according to commitments, SLAs, policies and procedures, and works closely with the management team on reporting and regulatory obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day delivery of client outputs in line with commitments, SLAs, policies and procedures.
• Work with management on the planning, coordination and completion of NAVs, management reporting and statutory reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting and regulatory obligations.
• Review bookkeeping, monthly, quarterly and annual NAVs, management accounts, interim and annual statutory financial statements.
• Assist in managing specialised services teams on financial reporting, helping ensure structures comply with laws and contractual obligations.
• Prepare and present reports, KPIs and dashboards for management.
• Manage risks, issues and complaints and escalate them on time when required.
• Prepare and implement entity-specific procedures for reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with local law and relevant GAAP.
• Monitor tasks, delegate across the team, support new processes, and guide team members technically.
• Look for automation and process improvements, stay up to date on financial reporting, and deliver training or workshops to the team.
• Support client meetings, new business pitches and proposals, and perform other duties needed for the team's strategic development.

Required profile

• Professional qualification such as CA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
• 6 to 7 years of experience after a degree or professional qualification in finance and accounting.
• Understanding of the regulatory and financial reporting regime.
• Team player with strong managerial, leadership and people skills, and ability to motivate and influence a team.

Required skills

• Drafting and reviewing management accounts and financial statements under Lux GAAP, IFRS and other GAAPs, with awareness of their developments.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills, including creating and analysing dashboards, reports and spreadsheets.
• Knowledge of accounting software and databases, and exposure to IT systems and platforms.
• Strong decision-making skills and experience delivering client-focused solutions.
