Senior L3 Support Engineer – OCD SOC

About the role

We are looking for a Senior L3 Support Engineer to join our Orange Business Security Operations Centre (SOC). The role provides advanced third‑level support for a range of security technologies across a global customer base, ensuring incidents are resolved quickly and services remain uninterrupted.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver L3 troubleshooting and act as escalation point for complex, service‑impacting security incidents.
• Coordinate with customer vendors and internal engineering to validate and release new software/firmware for security devices without service disruption.
• Provide on‑call support for critical incidents, handling escalations during off‑hours and weekends.
• Mentor internal teams, share knowledge and conduct training sessions.
• Perform root‑cause analysis, develop corrective actions and implement Service Improvement Plans.
• Manage security policies, IPS configurations, rule updates and routine patches, upgrades and migrations.
• Lead technical escalations, keep management informed and drive incident, change, release, capacity and vulnerability management processes.
• Monitor alarms, differentiate false positives, analyse traffic and investigate intrusions, escalating major events as needed.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in security operations, SOC environments or network security support.
• Proven ability to handle high‑severity incidents and work under pressure.
• Strong communication skills for customer interaction and internal coordination.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and driving knowledge transfer.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of security technologies (IPS, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems).
• Experience with software/firmware release validation and vendor coordination.
• Proficiency in incident, change, release and vulnerability management processes.
• Ability to analyse network traffic and perform manual correlation of security events.
