Security Office Support & Data Analyst

About the role

The role sits within the Converged Security Office (CSO) of Absa Mauritius and supports the Chief Security Officer across multiple security domains, including fraud, forensics, cyber security, information risk, resilience and records management. The primary focus is to derive business intelligence from data analytics and assist in delivering security services.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure Group security controls are enforced and assist with risk assessments for new projects.
• Support forensic investigations, fraud monitoring, data analytics and management information reporting.
• Implement cyber‑security best practices, conduct third‑party due diligence and manage logical access controls.
• Embed records‑management controls, drive paper‑less initiatives and deliver awareness training.
• Assist the Data Privacy Officer with privacy programmes and support business continuity simulations.
• Prepare regular reports for internal committees, boards and regulators, and build trend‑analysis dashboards for CSO departments.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology or a related field, with professional cyber‑security certifications.
• Minimum 2 years of IT experience, preferably in a financial institution, with exposure to cyber security, information risk or fraud operations.
• Ability to work independently, drive initiatives and implement small projects without supervision.
