About the role
Join DuckDuckGo’s Web Dependability Engineering team to ensure that websites function flawlessly across DuckDuckGo’s browsers on Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android. You will own the web‑compatibility side of triage, debug complex issues, and ship durable fixes that keep users browsing securely.
Key responsibilities
- Own the web‑compatibility triage process and lead incident response when major sites break.
- Debug and resolve issues in third‑party code, distinguishing site bugs, browser bugs, and privacy‑protection‑induced breakage.
- Ship cross‑platform fixes and build tooling to prevent user churn.
Required profile
- 7+ years building and debugging complex web applications with vanilla JavaScript.
- Deep knowledge of web standards, web components, and browser APIs.
- Experience reverse‑engineering obfuscated code and reducing issues to minimal test cases.
- Proven ability to lead ambiguous projects with little oversight.
