Systems Specialist (Cloud)

About the role

This role covers the management and monitoring of Intel server infrastructure and system installations, including configurations, testing and maintenance. It also involves designing and developing cloud-based solutions on Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, supporting VMware, Hyper-V, SharePoint, Windows Servers and Active Directory, and acting as technical escalation point of contact for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor server infrastructure and system installations, including configurations, testing and maintenance.
• Design and develop cloud-based solutions on Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
• Implement and support VMware, Hyper-V, SharePoint, Windows Servers, Active Directory and authentication services.
• Implement and maintain backup, security and redundancy strategies.
• Provide technical guidance to clients on escalated tickets and change requests, and act as escalation point of contact during crisis tickets.
• Coach team members and set improvement plans so skills meet current and future needs.
• Act as technical point of contact during project and client handover reviews, ensuring required tests are carried out.
• Work with the Team Leader/Manager on the quality of support and deliverables to cloud customers, and support the System Administrator team during major incidents.
• Write technical documentation and user guides.

Required profile

• Degree in an information technology-related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a medium/large production environment.
• Experience in virtualisation and systems implementation of virtualised environments is an advantage.
• Knowledge of information systems, systems implementation and customer relationship management.
• Excellent customer service skills, good time management, organisation and communication skills, and ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
• Flexibility regarding working hours.

Required skills

• Certifications in Windows, VMware, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Office 365.
• Good knowledge of MS Windows (AD, DNS, GPO).
• Implementation, administration and troubleshooting of MS SharePoint environments, on-premise and cloud.
