Tax Manager

About the role

Mauri Experta Ltd is looking for an experienced Tax Manager to lead tax compliance and quality assurance for its client portfolio in Mauritius. You will act as the technical tax specialist, ensuring accurate and timely tax services while supporting client accountants.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate tax computations and returns prepared by client accountants.
• Serve as the technical tax specialist and quality‑control lead.
• Manage and respond to MRA audits, assessments, objections, and tax enquiries.
• Represent Mauri Experta and its clients in dealings with the MRA.
• Provide training, coaching, and technical support to client accountants.
• Assist clients with CIGA and economic substance requirements where needed.
• Develop tax procedures, policies, and best practices to improve operational efficiency.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure ongoing compliance across the client portfolio.
• Perform any other tasks required to support the tax function.

Required profile

• Professional qualification such as ADIT, CTA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in taxation, accounting, audit, or corporate services.
• Strong knowledge of Mauritius tax laws and MRA practices.
• Proven experience dealing directly with tax audits, assessments, and regulatory authorities.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
