Client Accountant

About the role

The Client Accountant manages and takes responsibility for a portfolio of entities including Global Business Companies, Authorised companies, International Business Companies, Domestic companies, Trusts and Foundations. The role covers day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting and liaison with clients and auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out all accounting duties for the client portfolio and provide daily financial reporting in line with internal policies.
• Prepare accounting schedules, bank reconciliations and bank analysis, and maintain accurate, timely accounting records.
• Bookkeep and process transactions in Sage Evolution or other required software, and prepare financial statements and management accounts to IAS and IFRS.
• Prepare accounting files and checklists to support the review of financial statements and review accounts analytically.
• Prepare and file corporate tax, income tax, TDS, PAYE, CSG and PRGF returns, and VAT returns for domestic companies.
• Liaise with auditors and attend to their queries, and assist clients on accounting and audit matters.
• Review the work of subordinates, liaise with the administration team, and prepare periodic and annual statistical reports for the Financial Services Commission.
• Update the CRM software, complete time entries in the time-billing system, and handle ad hoc tasks.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting and/or Finance, or a fully qualified ACCA or other chartered accountancy qualification.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in the global business sector (financial industry) is ideal.
