Trade Mark Assistant

About the role

The Trade Mark Assistant will support the Trade Mark Formalities team within the IP and Innovation Department at ENS's Mauritius office. This role offers exposure to trademark administration in a dynamic, deadline‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Handle day‑to‑day administrative tasks for the principal and team.
• Draft basic letters and emails, manage client and colleague correspondence.
• Maintain diaries, organise the office, and ensure effective office management.
• Generate and edit client portfolio reports and bulk renewal notification schedules using Patricia, PDF and Excel.
• Manage accounts: invoicing, credit control, query handling and follow‑up on outstanding debt.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients, colleagues and support staff.
• Provide proactive support across all practice areas and communicate clearly with clients.
• Prioritise tasks efficiently under pressure.

Required profile

• 3 years experience in a secretarial role, preferably within a law firm.
• Senior High School Certificate; secretarial certificate or diploma beneficial but not mandatory.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Professional, flexible, reliable, team‑oriented and able to maintain confidentiality.
• Resilient with a proactive attitude toward assistance and follow‑ups.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Patricia software.
• Advanced use of Excel.
• Working knowledge of PDF creation/editing.
• Excellent computer and typing skills.
