Accounts Payable Supervisor

About the role

The Accounts Payable Supervisor will support the AP function for UK incorporated SMEs, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time. You will work closely with management and the wider accounting team to maintain high service standards and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify invoices, ensuring correct coding to departments and purchase lines.
• Upload invoices into the accounting system and prepare payment runs as instructed.
• Post payment transactions to ledgers and reconcile bank statements within the system.
• Maintain vendor files and respond to internal inquiries.
• Perform clerical accounting tasks related to AP processing.
• Reconcile supplier statements to ledger accounts and monitor outstanding payments.
• Review the output of the AP team when required.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of general accounting concepts, including VAT.
• Proficiency in data entry with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to meet multiple tight deadlines.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Business‑risk awareness and client‑service orientation.
• Initiative, teamwork, and willingness to learn.
