Assistant Accountant – Capital Markets

About the role

As an Assistant Accountant in the Capital Markets team, you will build a solid accounting foundation by accurately processing financial records and gaining hands‑on experience preparing financial statements and management accounts. The role offers the chance to learn, grow and contribute to delivering timely, accurate financial information for a diverse client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post bookkeeping entries, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, loan transactions and bank postings.
• Perform bank, investment and balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Support the preparation of VAT returns, basic tax filings, management accounts and annual financial statements in line with applicable standards.
• Maintain supplier, loan and accounting records, ensuring data is accurate, up‑to‑date and well‑organized.
• Collaborate with the Client Accounting team, providing bookkeeping support and contributing to projects and process‑improvement initiatives.
