Compliance Specialist – Regulatory Liaison

About the role

MCB’s Compliance SBU is seeking a Compliance Specialist to join the Regulatory Liaison cluster. The role acts as a second line of defense, ensuring the bank operates in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Group Head of Compliance and the Manager of Regulatory Compliance in implementing the Compliance Plan and delivering required reports on schedule.
• Conduct gap analyses when new legislation or guidelines are issued and recommend remedial actions.
• Support internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and the preparation of quarterly and ad‑hoc regulatory reports.
• Monitor regulatory developments, financial trends and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement.
• Contribute to quarterly compliance reporting for senior management and the Board.
• Help prepare annual compliance plans and coordinate responses to regulatory or sustainability surveys.
• Assist in developing AML, CFT and CPF training materials and participate in Enterprise Wide Risk Assessment updates.
• Participate in projects or initiatives as directed by senior compliance leadership.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in law, finance, or a related field.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across functions.

Required skills

• Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance frameworks.
• Familiarity with anti‑money laundering, combatting the financing of terrorism and proliferation financing concepts.
